Cassia is closely related to Cinnamon that embodies an invigorating, spicy aroma. Cassia is one of a handful of essential oils cited by the Old Testament for its distinguished fragrance and calming benefits. Cassia has a working relationship with cooking and baking and is thought to promote a digestive health when consumed. Cassia can also be applied topically to promote a soothing sensation for a tired, achy body. Cassia is an excellent substitute for cinnamon when cooking.
